Healing the 7 Chakras - Yoga and Plant Medicine

The chakras are centers of energy all over the body. We have seven major chakras located along the spine. Every feeling and all our senses are integrated with a different chakra. Blocked chakras can manifest in physical, emotional, or spiritual issues. Keeping the chakras open and balanced keeps our energies flowing correctly and can help keep us healthy.

Yoga works to move energy in the body. Yoga postures and controlled breath can aid in the cleansing, balancing and opening of the chakras. Similarly, plants have medicines that support healing. There are plants with healing properties that reduce pain, minimize stress, balance the gut, harmonize the mood, cleanse the body, and more.

Focusing on different yoga poses and plants each week that pair with each chakra system.

Come try, taste and experience yoga and plants with us!

Last Saturdays of the Month, 11:30am - 1:30pm

Option 1: Pay per class $25 - $45 (sliding scale)

Milwaukie Beer Fest & Yoga

Yoga and Beer
It’s really only been a matter of time before they paired up.

Elk Rock Yoga is excited to be participating in  celebrating great craft beer, cider, music, local vendors, food and art this Saturday July 20th, 12pm-8pm.

Pairing yoga and beer brings together a lot of different people and gives you a great opportunity to socialize. You can expect a wider mix of people than your traditional yoga class – you might see more men, more body types, and more experience levels. And among those, you’ll find loyal practitioners of yoga who are looking to lighten up their practice and add in a little fun.

Is this even healthy?
Let’s push aside the fact that socializing and building relationships contributes to living a longer, more fulfilling life – something you’ll be doing by engaging in yoga and beer events. Beer in and of itself can lower the risk heart attacks in women, strengthen bones, and protect against diabetes. Physically, yoga will increase your flexibility, strength, and energy. Both activities offer reduced stress, improvement in mood and increased relaxation.

After a yoga session at the studio, walk next door to get a Taste of Milwaukie Beer Fest! Bring your friends and meet some new friends who have some way cool interests!

$10 Yoga Class/ $15 gets you a Taste of Milwaukie commemorative glass and 4 beer tickets with 30+ craft beers/cider to choose from

Remembering Your Spirit, A Workshop for Women

Remembering Your Spirit, a workshop for women

January 12, 2019 11:30 am to 2:30 pm

$25 per person

Choose today to give yourself the best life ever! If not now, when?  Make 2019 a year of NEW INTENTIONS that will serve your highest self spiritually, and connect your mind, body and spirit. Begin designing a new path that brings compassion to yourself by “Remembering Your Spirit”!

Our lives are very busy, and because we give to others more than we ever give to ourselves, we often find we are disconnected from mind, body, and spirit.

Take the opportunity to invest in yourself on a higher energetic level, to connect not only to your own spirit, but that of other women that share similar stories. Move from lack to abundance, from limiting beliefs to unlimited opportunities and open yourself up to the belief that you are deserving.

Gina Lee will take you on a heartfelt adventure walking you through a "Journey Line', showing you where you have been and help you gain clarity of where you want to go. You will see yourself from a new perspective, which will guide you into abundance and give you freedom from limiting beliefs that may be holding you back.

In this workshop you will:

1.  View yourself in a new light, from a healing perspective

2.  Support and encourage others in the community, at work, etc.

3.  Gain clarity and love yourself through gratitude

4.  Set a purposeful intention for 2019

Our time together will begin with a meditation, move into 45-minute yoga class then transition into the beautiful unveiling of "Remembering Your Spirit!".

This is the perfect gift you can give to yourself by connecting mind, body and spirit, and start the momentum moving in the direction YOU want to go with like-minded women by cultivating self-awareness for a healthy new year in 2019!

Hula Hoop Playshop w/ Bre

Leave your poodle skirts at home, because hula hoop has come a long way since the 1950s to become not only a fun exercise but an art form. Whether you’re looking to mix-up your exercise routine or planning on running away with the circus, join us for our Summer Hooping Playshop where you will get a great core workout, achieve a meditative flow and pick up some tricks along the way. We will meet twice a month for a class where we will focus on a new technique you can practice until our next meeting. We will build on this each time and by the 4th playshop you’ll walk away with a full routine with which you can dazzle your friends & family.

Playshop 1 - August 13th - Isolations - Turn your hoop into a puppet as we dive into movement illusions that will boggle onlookers.

Playshop 2 - August 27th - Escalators & Wedges - Learn to move your hoop up & down your body & transition into a killer leg workout.

Playshop 3 - Sept 3rd - Vertical Hooping - Change direction and let gravity do the work. Learn to go up & down instead of side to side.

Playshop 4 - Sept 24th - Body Rolls - In our last Playshop, we’ll cover simple, yet therapeutic technique of body rolls. Finally, you’ll add some personal touches into a full choreographed flow.
