Avoid Burnout & Overwhelm: Tools for Compassionate Professionals

Do you LOVE the work that you do in the world but find yourself struggling at times with feeling sensitive to the emotions of your clients and the challenges that they are going through?

Many of us in the healing professions are often highly sensitive individuals and have empathic tendencies which can truly be gifts in our abilities to understand our clients and provide extra information beyond the words our clients share BUT it can also feel like a double-edged sword.

You might find yourself feeling:
Emotionally drained at the end of your day
Feeling things that you know aren’t yours but you aren’t sure what to do about that
Overwhelmed by the stressors and emotional challenges in your own life after a full day of work
Sometimes it is just too much and you are burning out

In this 2 hour workshop with practitioners Lyn Delmastro-Thomson and Laura Rowe, we will explore both the gifts and challenges of being sensitive and empathic as a practitioner. We will explore how without the proper tools to protect your own energy, you might fall into burnout, compassion fatigue, and more.

The workshop will also offer you new tools to both help protect your own energies AND some that you can use to support your clients. CEUs will be available for LMTs.

Tickets are $50 per person for general admission or $80 per person for CEUs. Register Now!

Here’s what one student shared about her recent experience of this facilitated group breathwork process:

“I would highly recommend this work to anyone who wants to open spiritual channels and clear stagnant energy from their body. During the breath work I could feel the sensation of energy flowing through the cells in my body and then a burst of intense energy surged through my body and opened my crown chakra and third eye. I then became immersed in a profound feeling of unconditional love that was so deep I wanted to cry. I remained in a state of bliss for the rest of the day.” – Conde Bartlett

IRest Yoga Nidra

IRest Yoga Nidra stands for Integrative Restoration. It is a profound meditative process that teaches us how to carefully and systematically investigate the nature of our beliefs that define our personal identity and differentiate the world around us into separate objects. During Yoga Nidra, we investigate our actual experience so that we can understand the nature of who we actually are and what the world really is.

Yoga Nidra helps us investigate and dispel roots of our conditioning that can underlie our perception of reality. It can dissolve the obstacles that stand in the way of our leading an authentic life of purpose and meaning, and for those who are interested, it can awaken us into an enlightened life of self-realization as our True Nature. During Yoga Nidra, you enter a profound state of receptive relaxation, all the while remaining totally aware and alert throughout the process. Yoga Nidra invites your innate intelligence and intrinsic clarity to rise to the surface of your conscious mind, allowing you to uncover and access the wisdom resources of your higher levels of consciousness.

Your innate intelligence knows the exact solutions, revelations, and resolutions that you need in order to address all the various issues, problems, questions, and conundrums that you face in your daily life.

Remembering your Spirit Workshop

Choose today to give yourself the best life ever! If not now, when? Make 2020 a year of NEW INTENTIONS that will serve your highest self spiritually, and connect your mind, body and spirit. Begin designing a new path that offers compassion to yourself by “Remembering Your Spirit”!

Our lives are very busy, and because we give to others more than we ever give to ourselves, we often find we are disconnected from mind, body, and spirit.
Take the opportunity to invest in yourself on a higher energetic level, to connect not only to your own spirit, but that of other people that share similar stories. Move from lack to abundance, from limiting beliefs to unlimited opportunities and open yourself up to the belief that you are deserving.

Gina Lee will take you on a heartfelt adventure walking you through a "Journey Line', showing you where you have been and help you gain clarity of where you want to go. You will see yourself from a new perspective, which will guide you into abundance and give you freedom from limiting beliefs that may be holding you back.

In this workshop you will:
1. View yourself in a new light, from a healing perspective
2. Support and encourage others in the community, at work, etc.
3. Gain clarity and love yourself through gratitude
4. Set a purposeful intention for 2020

Our time together will begin with a meditation, move into a heart opening yoga class then transition into the beautiful unveiling of "Remembering Your Spirit!". Please bring snacks to eat during the break. Even if you have attended this is the past, you will find shed new light on yourself by attending again. Each workshop is unique because each one of you being the uniqueness to it.

This is the perfect gift you can give to yourself by connecting mind, body and spirit, and start the momentum moving in the direction YOU want to go with like-minded people by cultivating self-awareness for a healthy new year in 2020!

Unraveling: Sensitives, Empaths & Chronic Illness

Are you someone who is sensitive to the world around you (people, animals, plants, objects)? Have you struggled with how to manage those sensitivities and at times just tried to shut them down out of a sense of feeling overwhelmed?

What if your struggle with your sensitivities and your challenges with managing them was actually making you sick? It could be causing aches and pains, low energy, fatigue, or even chronic illness.

In this talk, practitioners Lyn Delmastro-Thomson and Laura Rowe will communicate the connections they have found between being a highly sensitive person or empath and a host of hidden illnesses. They will be sharing more about:
* What it means to be an empath
* How being an empath could contribute to making you sick
* Case studies of what we’ve both seen in our practices around the connection between being an empath and chronic illness (especially autoimmune diseases)
* Simple tools that you can use to begin to feel more in control of your sensitivities

Tickets are $20.00 per person, Preregister Here.

Yinlicious

Yin-Licious- Release your body and unwind your mind.

Yoga never tasted so good! A quiet and gentle practice, Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues of the body and encourages greater mobility and health of the joints. While the postures are all done on the floor and held longer than traditional yoga classes and shorter than restorative classes, (3-5 minutes), the emphasis is on finding a balance between effort and ease in the pose.

Yin Yoga provides time for mindful awareness, introspection and deep relaxation. Opening up the body, letting go of old tension and stress. Opening up the mind, creating more space between the thoughts. FEELING our way into a more calm way of being, and reconnecting to our inner truth.

Slow down, stretch out, find that delicious sweet spot.

Milwaukie Beer Fest & Yoga

Yoga and Beer
It’s really only been a matter of time before they paired up.

Elk Rock Yoga is excited to be participating in  celebrating great craft beer, cider, music, local vendors, food and art this Saturday July 20th, 12pm-8pm.

Pairing yoga and beer brings together a lot of different people and gives you a great opportunity to socialize. You can expect a wider mix of people than your traditional yoga class – you might see more men, more body types, and more experience levels. And among those, you’ll find loyal practitioners of yoga who are looking to lighten up their practice and add in a little fun.

Is this even healthy?
Let’s push aside the fact that socializing and building relationships contributes to living a longer, more fulfilling life – something you’ll be doing by engaging in yoga and beer events. Beer in and of itself can lower the risk heart attacks in women, strengthen bones, and protect against diabetes. Physically, yoga will increase your flexibility, strength, and energy. Both activities offer reduced stress, improvement in mood and increased relaxation.

After a yoga session at the studio, walk next door to get a Taste of Milwaukie Beer Fest! Bring your friends and meet some new friends who have some way cool interests!

$10 Yoga Class/ $15 gets you a Taste of Milwaukie commemorative glass and 4 beer tickets with 30+ craft beers/cider to choose from

SOMA Breath Awakening Ceremony

SOMA Breath Awakening ceremony is a unique and ecstatic form of breathwork that helps you unwind your nervous system, transcend your ego and tap into the bliss and joy that already lives within you! This ceremony is held for those who wish to get to know themselves more deeply, to experience emotional healing, and to get in touch with the great Mystery of life.

First, we will set our intentions for what it is we feel will serve our highest good in our lives. Then, rhythmic music guides us on an inner journey home to ourselves as we breathe in and out to the beat of the music. Hyper-oxygenating our bodies, raising our vibrational energy, and super-charging our nervous systems, we will begin to strip the layers of conditioning and guardedness so we may open up and expand into the Truth of who we really are. Huge waves of bliss, Love, joy, and pleasure are not uncommon in these ceremonies. Bring a yoga mat and water bottle, other props will be provided.

Please contact Hart at sacredrootshealingarts@gmail.com with any questions!

Remembering Your Spirit, A Workshop for Women

Remembering Your Spirit, a workshop for women

January 12, 2019 11:30 am to 2:30 pm

$25 per person

Choose today to give yourself the best life ever! If not now, when?  Make 2019 a year of NEW INTENTIONS that will serve your highest self spiritually, and connect your mind, body and spirit. Begin designing a new path that brings compassion to yourself by “Remembering Your Spirit”!

Our lives are very busy, and because we give to others more than we ever give to ourselves, we often find we are disconnected from mind, body, and spirit.

Take the opportunity to invest in yourself on a higher energetic level, to connect not only to your own spirit, but that of other women that share similar stories.

4.  Set a purposeful intention for 2019

Our time together will begin with a meditation, move into 45-minute yoga class then transition into the beautiful unveiling of "Remembering Your Spirit!".

This is the perfect gift you can give to yourself by connecting mind, body and spirit, and start the momentum moving in the direction YOU want to go with like-minded women by cultivating self-awareness for a healthy new year in 2019!
